Resident Marvel.com photographer Judy Stephens took a bunch of shots around the Marvel Booth (#2329) at San Diego Comic-Con 2012!

Check out the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Phase One: Avengers Assembled box set on display, the giant Marvel NOW! poster behind the Marvel LIVE area, and the Avengers: Battle For Earth and Marvel Heroes demos!

Swing by booth #2329 if you’re hitting San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, say hi to the Marvel LIVE staff, and check out the Hall of Armor from Iron Man 3!

Dear Marvel, I honestly HATE you for not releasing this set in Europe! I’d kill for having this. I’d easily pay almost any price for this even thoug I already own the movies… But no, European fans will have to be satisfied with a stupid seelbox or a standard boxed set. *grmbl*

Got to be kidding me! - True story, I don’t make things up! Ever!

I just decided to watch “Real Steel” today because yesterday I didn’t because of Germany’s Next Topnonsense erm model…

So I want to watch Real Steel… I got the Blu Ray recently, so it’s the first time I watch it. And I want to watch it because there ARE actually other great and hot actors like Hugh Jackman! Phira puts the BR into her PS3, the BR starts with the obligatory trailers - and I always watch them when I first insert a new disc because I might find something intersting…

The trailer show starts. And remember I’m trying (!) to run away from Tom Hiddleston here! So first trailer starts and I’m like “WTF? Seriously?” War Horse! Hello Mr. Hiddleston! Well ok, he’s only to be seen briefly, so it’s still OK.
But THEN the second damn trailer: The Avengers! Loki and his hot, evil smile!
Thus I honestly feel Loki’d here! Because even if I deliberately want to get away from him and watch non-Tom films he keeps following me! Oh dear, Mr. Hiddleston, stop stalking me ;).
Or… well… not… *shakes her head in defeat*

Loki: How desperate are you? That you call on such lost creatures to defend you?

Fury: How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can’t hope to control, you talk about peace, and you kill ’cause it’s fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did.

Loki: Ooh, it burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power. Unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share? And then to be reminded what real power is.

Some articles are just… made to make people talk about it

I’m talking about this:
http://moviepilot.com/movies/293035-the-avengers-2/stories/400967-why-superheroes-are-just-as-ridiculous-as-sparkly-vampires?utm_campaign

But hell, I still want to say some things (Quotes from the article are in italics):

“So nerds, you think you’re so cool with your little Batman figurines and Thor bobble-heads.”
- Since when do nerds think they’re cool at all? And actually, I feel more like a geek than a nerd. Because: there is a difference! Don’t know it? You can google it (ugh, did I really quote Sparky-Edward here?).

Now before you go reaching for your Hawkeye bow, think about how many girls are into superheroes and how many guys are into Twilight. Notice how it tends to split along gender lines?
Sexism anyone?

Date night contributed a good chunk, and we all know that date night is often a compromise that boils down to: ‘Fine, I’ll go see your stupid [insert explosions, aliens, robots], but next week we’re going to watch [insert romcom/period drama]!’

Funny, actually I had to persuade to-be-boyfriend to go see The Avengers twice, thrice, four, even five times. He wanted to see Snowwhite, I wanted to see Avengers again: compromise: this week Avengers, next week Snowwhite. I win, I get my movie first :D (but still have to suffer through Kirsten-one-face-Stewart… thoug I will get to see Chris Hems.. so it’s still a win if I don’t look at her face too closely).

Traditionally, superheroes and action films are boy territory.
Since when are we back to middle ages? Ever heard of emancipation? We can all do housework now, men and women! And women can be firefighters! Wow. I’ve even heard of men staying at home taking care of the kids while the wife works… Weiiiiiiiird world, right? *points at some buckets of irony sitting behind the words*

It’s the ultimate cliché: if you want to draw a female audience, throw in a love story. Better yet, a love triangle! Maybe some vampires… See where I’m going here?
I really had to look down my body now to check if I really am a women! Phew, yes, boobies still there! I’m feeling like this article is putting me into a gender crisis!

After John Carter bombed at the box office, one of the reasons cited for Disney’s unfortunate $100-million loss was that — unlike Avatar, for example — they completely ignored the love story.Sorry, but I LOVE John Carter. It was my movie of the year before I saw The Avengers! Huh, women loving films without any real lovestory?! Am I really female? Phew, yes, boobies still there! And wait, again it was ME who wanted to see the movie. I didn’t just tag along…

Little girls have their pick between play kitchen sets, baby strollers and Barbies. Little boys get G.I. Joes and toy guns. It’s the same idea.
Funny I got to play with whatever toy I wanted when I was little. LEGOs and Barbies inhabited my room, I guess now we know the reason for my crisis… I just wasn’t brouht up right. My mom should’ve insisted on getting me all pink stuff… (Please notice the irony dropping from every single letter here.)

And though admiring Tom Hiddleston: I did NOnot T got to see The Avengers over and over again because of him (sorry, Mr. Hiddleston ;) ). I want to see it every damn week because it’s a damn great movie! I love all the actor’s doing a great job! I love Joss Whedon’s work! I love the humor, the oneliners, the banter between the characters! I love that there is no very deep plot but just a great deal of fantastic entertainment that lets me get away from my everyday life! And I love Downey Jr. as Tony Stark! And now I even love Hulk because Ruffalo made him likeable to me. Yes, I love Tom’s Loki but it’s the whole package that wants me to see this movie like every single day of my upcoming summerholidays! I wish I’d have the BR by then :(.
And I LOVE that there is actually no lovestory - or worse: a love-triangle!

Btw. I hate the Twilight movies! Bad acting, bad effects! I just can’t stand it! I don’t care about bad influence or messages in books and films though. I’ve had a lot of crap and “bad influence” literature / films in my life and still turned out to be a decent person! But life’s just too short to watch films with bad actors / bad soundtracks / bad plots / bad effects. And I really do care about acting and, wow, effects… though effects are a male thing again… women can’t tell the difference anyway, right? (Notice another load of irony dripping down the letters here.)

And no, I’m not having my panties in a twist, I’m not mad or annoyed or anything… Writing stuff like this is actually FUN to me. I ENJOY this. I am a Woman of Words and such articles give me a lot of opportunities to produce a lot of words! So, this makes me actually happy!

“Part of being sane, is being a little bit crazy.”

Janet Long

Quote of the day 29th May 2012

I embrace that! My insanity is what keeps me sane. Right know I’m having a hard time, lots of stuff going on that worries me, demands a lot from me, stresses me out.
But then I can run to my little refuge of inner moonlight, retreat from my everyday world into a place where there exist only good things. Fangirling about The Avengers and Tom Hiddleston, good books, good films, good music. This is what keeps me sane, what keeps me going during hard times!

Seeing The Avengers for the fourth time in 4 1/2 weeks and planning a fifth (but then last!) time next week is insane. But this little insanity gives me happiness like nothing else. Once again I just came home feeling all content and giddy with joy. So: Mission acomplished! Sephira is happy and will be for the rest of the week because my endorphins are running so high that they are ging to last at leat until Saturday!

And I love being a crazy geek wearing an Avengers fanshirt to cinema and silently lipsyncing the film while watching because I now know my favourite scenes by heart :D.

The whole crew needs to be thanked, becuse this movie not just made my day or month… it made my year.
I thought the biggest movie of the year would be The Hobbit as I have been a huge LotR fan for years. But to be honest: I didn’t see the LotR four or five times! I went twice and that was it. So I think I’ll be happy seeing The Hobbit but I don’t think it can prevent The Avengers from staying my No1 movie of the year.
Right now I’m still thinking about the reasons why The Avengers got me hooked like no other movie before (apart from Dirty Dancing, but I was seven then and watched it on video tape every single day for months! It was my reward for doing my homework properly back then :) ).
